INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

Mill magazine box mortise rearward as shown in (figure 1), just long enough for the extended box to fit. Shorten face of bolt stop .110” (figure 2) to accommodate extra box length. On Win. M-70 actions, the ejector and bolt stop will need to be modified as well.

If using the staggered feed extended box on the Rem. M-700 in the Ultra Mag. calibers, it may be necessary to remove the top 1/8" of the magazine lips on the box to expose more receiver rail. Failure to do this may increase the chance of ratcheting of the cartridges from the box when operating the bolt quickly.

When fitting the center feed magazine lips, bend the lips in until it takes medium pressure to push the cartridge through them. When doing this, make sure that the magazine lips DO NOT contact the action rails. If allowed to do so, this will cause a bind during the loading process. To correct this, simply shorten the magazine lips and bend them in farther. This design is not of the in-line type. The cartridges will sit in the box staggered and will pop to center when pushed forward.

The extended boxes may or may not fit the factory bottom metal. The easiest cure is to relieve the back of the magazine box so it sits on top of the bottom metal instead of in the mortise. Some models have had this done allready.

The CFE-9 box requires more alterations than the other Remington style boxes. The magazine mortise will need to be moved aprox. .250" to the rear, ejector shortened to accomodate the extra length, and the ejection port moved back .250".
